SWTOR Crew Skills Powerleveling
Crafting in SWTOR is typical of many MMOs, although there are some differences. To do crafting in SWTOR, you pick the item you wish to craft, and make sure you have the proper materials. Next you select which crew member you want to craft the item. Be sure to pay attention to the crews proficiencies. Some crew members are better at certain skills than others, see the listing below for specifics.
You can queue up to five items per crew member, and you can use more than one crew member at a time. At as you level you can use more crew members at one time. For example, if you used 4 crew members each queuing 5 items each, you can queue 20 items to be crafted. While this is being done, you can quest or even log off. When the items are completed they will be placed in your inventory, or if you are not logged in your companion will mail them to you.
You can learn new recipes from the skill trainer, through special item drops, and from reverse engineering. The skill trainer generally has new recipes to teach you every 10 to 20 skill points.
It is important not to sell the items you create, at least when you first learn them. Instead, reverse engineer them. By doing so you will reclaim some of the materials used in making it, and you can learn a better version of the recipe. For example: A green recipe item reverse engineered can give you a blue version of the same recipe, and a blue recipe item when reverse engineered can give a purple version recipe. This is not guaranteed every time, and it may take you a few tries to get the upgraded recipes. The higher quality the recipe, the more difficult it is to learn through reverse engineering.

The "Efficiency" in crafting skills means that a companion will have reduced time needed to craft an item. For example, Aric Jorgan has "+10 Armstech Efficiency," so it will take him less time to craft an Armstech item. The "Efficiency" in a gathering skill means that it will take the companion less time to gather a resource. For example, Elara Dorne has "+10 Bioanalysis Efficiency," so it will take her less time to gather a resource used in Bioanalysis.
The "Critical" in crafting skills indicates a higher chance to create an exceptional piece of gear. For example, Tanno Vik has "+5 Armormech Critical," so he has a greater chance of creating exceptional gear with mod slots. The "Critical" in mission skills increases the chance for more loot recieved from a mission. For example, M1-4X has "+5 Scavenging Critical," so he has a greater chance of getting more materials from a Scavenging mission than normal.
